Pedro Sánchez sworn in as Spain’s prime minister

The Spanish socialist Pedro Sánchez has been sworn in as the country’s new prime minister – after his predecessor Mariano Rajoy lost a no confidence vote in parliament. But a new government also took office today in Catalonia – declaring they would continue to push for succession from Spain, an immediate challenge for Mr Sanchez.
