Patients should get GP appointments ‘within two weeks’, health secretary says

The other big problem and priority for the government is the crisis in the NHS. Patients can expect to get a GP appointment within a fortnight, the Government said today, though they stopped short of turning it into a target.

They also promised more staffing to take the pressure off family doctors.  And help with discharging patients into the community to help with waiting time backlogs. But critics said today this was tinkering at the edges without a pledge of more money.
