Over 70 universities in strike action as tens of thousands of students have lessons cancelled

Tens of thousands of students have had their lessons cancelled or disrupted today because of a strike by university staff.

The dispute over pay and conditions is affecting more than 70 universities and is set to last two weeks. But some students are demanding compensation for the disruption.
