Only seven percent of Black women successful in UK police applications

Communities Editor

New figures given to this programme reveal that Black women applying to join the police are less than half as likely to be successful as their white counterparts.

The stats show that while 20 percent of white women are successful with their applications, only seven percent of black women are.

Our communities editor Darshna Soni has been at the Thin Black Line conference in Birmingham, hearing from current and former Black police officers about their experiences in the force.
