The United States has repeatedly accused Russia of waging a deliberate campaign of disinformation over Ukraine – alleging that state media and social media accounts linked to the authorities have made up claims about Ukrainian aggression to spread disquiet – and to justify launching military action. Moscow insists it’s the West that’s peddling untruths.
