The broadcasting regulator Ofcom has begun an investigation into Tuesday evening’s GB News programme in which actor turned activist Laurence Fox launched a sexist rant against a female journalist and the programme’s host Dan Wootton laughed along with him.

Both Fox and Wootton have been suspended by GB News and today Mr Wootton had his contract terminated as a columnist for MailOnline. Ofcom said it had received more than seven thousand complaints about Tuesday’s programme.
