Nurses in England to pause strike action ahead of ‘intensive’ government talks

In the last few hours, nurses have agreed to pause next week’s 48-hour strike in England and re-start talks with the government.

Issuing a joint statement, the Royal College of Nursing and the government said both sides had agreed to enter “intensive negotiations” – meaning what was due to be the largest walkout so far in the current NHS pay dispute has been averted for now.
