Nurses and ambulance staff walk out in biggest NHS England strike in history

Today the NHS in England saw its biggest ever walkout, with nurses and ambulance staff from the Unite, RCN and GMB unions on strike on the same day for the first time.

The government condemned the industrial action, saying it’s “in nobody’s best interests” – but has refused to budge on the unions’ central demand for better pay.
