Northern Ireland schools to close as new Covid restrictions imposed

The Northern Ireland Executive met until very late last night to discuss their response to the rise in cases there, with peaks in some areas the highest in the whole of the UK.

The health minister has announced that the Belfast Nightingale Hospital will reopen amid fears about intensive care capacity.
