Nobel-Prize winning author VS Naipaul dies aged 85

The Nobel-Prize winning author Sir VS Naipaul has died at the age of 85. Sir Vidia, who was born in Trinidad, wrote more than 30 books, including his best known A House for Mr Biswas. He had frequent disagreements with fellow authors – including a famous falling out with Paul Theroux – who today described him as “one of the greatest writers of our time”.
