Nigeria postpones election five hours before polls open

Just five hours before polling stations were due to open in Nigeria, the country’s presidential election was cancelled and rescheduled for next weekend.

The two main political parties have accused each other of trying to manipulate the result. Voters have reacted with disappointment and outrage.

But election officials say the decision was made to help conduct a free, fair and credible election.
