New ‘Test and Dine’ proposal offers lifeline to Birmingham restaurants

Birmingham City Council has come up with a scheme they hope could be a lifeline to cafes and restaurants struggling to survive the coronavirus restrictions – especially in Tier 3 areas.

The ‘Test and Dine’ idea would enable people who want to eat out to get a Covid test a few hours earlier.

67 local authorities currently under England’s strictest measures will start enhanced community testing support programmes from Monday  – in a bid to drive down transmission rates.
