Myanmar anti-coup protesters stage nationwide general strike

Anti-coup protesters in Myanmar have continued to defy warnings from the military junta by staging a nationwide general strike, three weeks after the generals’ seizure of power.

Hundreds of thousands of people gathered peacefully throughout the country despite dire warnings from the authorities that further confrontation would cost lives.
