MPs vote on England Covid lockdown

Political Editor

MPs have voted to approve England’s new lockdown laws.

Some Conservative MPs are alarmed that the regulations apply until the end of March, but Boris Johnson told them he expected a gradual relaxation before then.

The emergency Commons session also heard that this summer’s A-levels and GCSEs in England would be replaced by teacher assessments,  and the education secretary said parents could complain to the schools regulator if their children did not get enough online learning.
