MP reject plan to continue remote voting

MPs have rejected a move to allow remote voting to continue in the House of Commons – despite protests from MPs who are shielding or physically unable to get to Westminster.

Members had to wait in queues several hundred metres long in order to cast their vote – some calling the chaotic scenes “completely unsafe”.

While others said it could not be right to disenfranchise members because of their health or family circumstances.
