Mortuary being built at Birmingham Airport to prepare for coronavirus deaths

The West Midlands has emerged as a coronavirus hotspot, with Birmingham and Wolverhampton especially hard hit.

The Government says it’s launched an investigation to find out why, and there are plans to create a temporary mortuary at Birmingham Airport, which could have space for thousands of bodies, as councils said they had a duty to prepare for the worst.
