Missing people: The growing crisis for police

They are the missing: the people who fall through the gaps in the system. Police in Avon and Somerset say they receive 26 reports of missing people every day, as they pick up the slack from the steep cuts in mental health care.

It means the police spend thousands of hours a year dealing with this growing crisis. They say the number of people reported missing in the region has risen fourfold in the last four years.
