4mMI5 “too slow” over Manchester bomber
Lessons were not learned from previous terror attacks and potential opportuntiies to prevent some of them were missed.
That’s the damming verdict of an inquiry by a committee of MPs which found that MI5’s methods of monitoring suspects was not up to scratch and the system which regulates materials used for bomb making was “hopelessly out of date”.
