Meet those struggling to put food on the table as charity says it gave out 3 million food parcels last year

There has been more evidence of the cost-of-living crisis worsening with the UK’s leading foodbank charity saying that a record number of emergency food parcels – nearly three million – were given out in the year to March.

That is more than double the number distributed five years ago. And in December, someone received a food parcel every eight seconds.
