May to discuss her future with Tory backbenchers next week

Theresa May will meet a committee of senior Conservative backbenchers next week to discuss how long she can stay on as Prime Minister.

She is under pressure from Brexit-supporting Tories to go as soon as possible. They are unhappy with her plan to stay in the post until she gets her Brexit deal through parliament.

But today Downing Street insisted that is still the timetable she is working towards.
