Matt Hancock says English lockdown has helped bring pandemic ‘under control’

Health secretary Matt Hancock said the lockdown had helped bring the pandemic “back under control”.

He touted figures from the React study by Imperial College London, a survey of 105,000 people which suggests coronavirus infections have dropped a third during England’s lockdown.

So is it a coincidence, or are the tougher measures working?
