Man found guilty of murdering his adopted toddler

Fitness instructor Matthew Scully-Hicks has been found guilty of murdering his adopted 18 month old daughter – after violently shaking her and striking her head. Cardiff crown court heard that the 31 year old had inflicted a series of injuries on the little girl during the eight months she was in his care.

Mr Scully-Hicks and his husband had formally adopted Elsie just a fortnight before her death. From Cardiff – our home affairs correspondent Andy Davies reports on this highly distressing case.
