London Marathon competitors take on alternative challenges to raise money

Sports reporter

The 40th London Marathon was meant to take place today. Instead – to support the charities which were depending on that mass fundraising effort – a new challenge has been set with the hope of raising millions of pounds.

Competitors have been asked to create their own activity based around the numbers two and six in their back gardens or front rooms. And the public have risen to the occasion – taking to treadmills, their stairs or pacing round the lounge to raise vital funds.
