Lockdown restrictions re-introduced in Preston after increase in Covid cases

Local lockdown restrictions in northern England have been extended to Preston in Lancashire as public health officials respond to a rise in coronavirus cases there.

It comes as the total number of deaths in the UK from Covid 19 rises to 46,511, with a further 98 deaths announced over the last 24 hours, as well as another 871 cases.
