Lockdown life even harder for those barred from benefits

The last few months of lockdown have taken their toll on many, but for those who are barred from accessing benefits, the struggle has been even more difficult.

Asylum seekers and people on student visas or spousal visas have no access to public funds, which is a condition of their residency.

It’s estimated over 100,000 children are living in poverty as a result.
