Lockdown easing in Bolton and Trafford scrapped after spike in coronavirus cases

Plans to ease local lockdown restrictions in Bolton and Trafford have been abruptly scrapped after a spike in coronavirus cases.

Local council leaders had begged the Westminster government to keep the measures going, while Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham said central government attempts to impose decisions on communities was “confusing people, causing anger and resentment”.
