No Brexit at all: that’s the Liberal Democrats new policy – after delegates at the party conference here in Bournemouth voted to back Jo Swinson’s pledge to stop Britain leaving the European Union.
It would mean revoking Article 50 if the lib dems ever get into government. But while they harden their opposition, ministers are busily softening their stance.
The Brexit Secretary said a deal was in sight – with a longer transitional period on offer. The Prime Minister was more forthright, comparing the UK to the incredible hulk, soon to break free of the manacles of the EU.
