Lianne La Havas on performing to an empty London venue

Live gigs are the bread and butter of most musicians but with empty stages and festivals cancelled, the music industry is in trouble. Despite the Government’s one and a half billion pound arts support package, thousands of jobs are likely to be lost. Venues and artists are trying to innovate.

Singer-songwriter Lianne La Havas should have been touring her new album but in this strange new world she’s performing at an empty London venue, the Round House with her fans watching remotely. Krishnan went to meet her just before the gig.
