For a fourth day, wildfires are raging around Los Angeles, where entire neighbourhoods have been devastated. At least 10 people have been confirmed dead. A curfew has also been declared and National Guard troops are patrolling the streets to stop people looting.
The scale of the infernos devastating Southern California is almost unimaginable, but the fierce winds hampering efforts to contain the fires have now calmed, providing some respite.
Almost 36 thousand acres have been burned, that’s an area bigger than the size of San Francisco.
And around 10,000 homes and buildings have been destroyed.
It’s a rapidly changing situation and the devastation is enormous..
Near the famous Malibu coastline the fire has torn through the neighbourhood, flattening what was a beachside paradise.
