At least ten Palestinians have been killed and dozens injured after Israeli forces launched a major military operation in the West Bank town of Jenin.
Israel said it had targeted terrorist infrastructure with drone strikes, before sending in ground forces – sparking heavy gun battles between Israeli troops and Palestinian militants.
It is the worst violence in Jenin in 20 years.
In the last hour – the Palestinian president said he would suspend contact and security coordination with Israel.
