The Home Secretary has warned that racism is fuelling extremist politicians into power around the world.
Sajid Javid also condemned chants of “send her back” at a Donald Trump rally this week as “completely unacceptable”. But like all his government colleagues he wouldn’t call Trump’s behaviour racist.
Mr Javid pledged an “unashamedly tough” approach to those who spread hateful ideologies, saying anti-immigration rhetoric was stoking division and fear.
Mr Javid’s speech uses language which some may find offensive.
