There were no enforced quarantines announced earlier and no orders to close premises.

But the advice was clear – a request to the public to do something difficult, disruptive. The Prime Minister described the steps the public is now being asked to take as “draconian”.

To discuss these measures, we’re joined now by Dr Bharat Pankania, an adviser on communicable disease control and a former consultant for Public Health England.

InWestminster, we have Dr Dominic Pimenta, a front line NHS doctor and Cardiology Registrar.
