Israel protests: moment of calm restored as Netanyahu pauses judicial reform

Benjamin Netenyahu’s decision to put his judicial reforms on hold has restored an element of calm to the streets of Israel.

But as long as the bill – seen by many as an attempt to protect Netanyahu from corruption charges – remains on the table, and far-right ultra-nationalists continue to hold sway in his government, the fault lines dividing the country are unlikely to disappear.
