Israel dismantles metal detectors in Jerusalem

Israel has dismantled metal detectors at a holy site in Jerusalem, following widespread protests by Palestinians. They were installed along with security cameras after two Israeli police officers guarding the site were shot dead by Arab Israelis, sparking a week of mass protests and further bloodshed on both sides. Muslim leaders, though, are still urging worshippers to boycott the site until they’ve reviewed the new security arrangements.
