The Irish government has published emergency legislation aimed at protecting the country in the event of a no-deal Brexit. The special bill is designed to support businesses and protect jobs, essential services and citizens rights.

We spoke to the Vice President of the European Parliament Mairead McGuinness, and began by asking her what she makes of the Irish government putting huge amounts of effort into legislation they hope will never actually come into force.
