Interest rates rise above levels set before financial crisis

Interest rates are today the highest they’ve been in nine years. The rise – announced by the Bank of England earlier – takes them from 0.5 to 0.75 per cent. That’s back above the level set by the Bank of England just after the financial crisis in 2008. Our Political Correspondent, Michael Crick has travelled to the West Midlands to assess what this means for businesses.
