The inquest into the death of a woman who bled to death after her daughter was born by Caesarean has concluded there were significant failings in her care. The inquest heard that Gabriela Pintilie lost six litres of blood and suffered a massive haemorrhage after the birth at Basildon hospital.

Her husband said today that hearing the catalogue of errors before her death had been “incredibly difficult” for the family to comprehend.
