HS2 risks under-estimated, says watchdog

It is famously way over-budget and years behind schedule – now a new report has blamed officials for failing to realise exactly how complex and risky the new HS2 high speed rail link would be.

It’s already more than five years late and is costing around £250 million a month – and the Government spending watchdog has warned that it’s not even possible to estimate what the final cost will be.
