How much of a difference could the Oxford vaccine make?

During this grim covid winter the only real Christmas bauble comes in form of the vaccine that many, including the government, have put their hopes in.

That’s the one developed by a team at Oxford, cheaper to produce, easier to handle and transport than the two others approved so far.

Our Government has pre-ordered 100 million doses of it and it could be given the nod by UK regulators in the next few days. But should we really be getting our hopes up?
