The streets around many cities lie quiet with most workers no longer commuting to desks in offices that lie empty.
Since lockdown eased, the numbers of people seeking a different way of life has grown exponentially – with a 126 per cent increase of people looking to leave cities and move to villages, according to one property site.
But is it just a pipe dream that will fade away as we go back to our old routines, or will this be a moment of real revolution – changing the way we live and work and changing the shape of our cities and towns forever?
