North of England Correspondent

An inquest into the death of a toddler, who was left waiting days for emergency surgery, has found there was gross failure in the care of the child.

20-month-old Kayden Urmston-Bancroft suffered cardiac arrest three days after being admitted to the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital for an operation in 2016. The coroner found he died of natural causes, contributed to by neglect.
