Homeowners in England offered government help to pay for energy-saving improvements

Hundreds of thousands of homeowners in England will be able to get financial help towards energy-saving home improvements like insulation – under a £2 billion grant scheme to be launched by the Chancellor Rishi Sunak.

It’s all part of wider “green investment” measures which Mr Sunak will outline in his summer statement tomorrow – but campaigners say it’s not nearly enough to meet the huge challenges of an economy fit to tackle global warming.
