Home Office launches Inquiry into Yarl’s Wood Allegations

The Home Office has launched an inquiry into the conduct of immigration officers who tried to deport a Sudanese mother and her daughters in direct contravention of a ministerial order.

One of the children has told Channel Four News that she was threatened with injury if she did not board the plane. An MP has told this programme that in this case the chain of command in the UK Border Agency is “badly broken down”. Channel Four News has also uncovered evidence that to try to speed up the family’s removal rules were breached at the Yarlswood detention centre.
