Hard-line judge Ebrahim Raisi wins Iranian presidential election by a landslide

The ultra-conservative judge Ebrahim Raisi has been declared the winner in Iran’s Presidential election. But key rivals were barred from standing, turnout was the lowest ever and millions of ballots were spoiled.

The 60-year-old cleric, who is subject to US sanctions for alleged human rights abuses, was endorsed by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
