Guidance for 2.2 million people shielding in England to be eased

Health and Social Care Editor

The 2.2 million people in England most vulnerable to coronavirus, who have been shielding in their homes for three months, have been told they can start to come outside.

From 6th July the government says they will be able to meet up outdoors with groups of up to six people and create a support bubble with one other household.

The scheme will end from August, but many of those shielding are concerned it’s all happening too soon.
