Grenfell firms refuse to accept responsibility for fire, inquiry told

The second phase of the Grenfell inquiry got underway today with its chief lawyer saying that none of the companies involved in the tower’s refurbishment will accept any responsibility for the 2017 fire.

Seventy-two people were killed in the 24-storey tower that failed to comply with building regulations.

The inquiry heard that the failure to comply was unlikely to have happened without anyone being at fault.
