GPs able to prescribe cycling to unfit patients under new £2bn scheme

Doctors will be able to prescribe a dose of cycling for unfit patients under a new government scheme to boost fitness in England.

On a visit to Nottingham, Boris Johnson also announced that from tonight £50 bike repair vouchers are available to get old bikes fixed up and back on the road. It will all be paid for from a £2 billion fund set aside earlier this year.
