Government wins Queen’s Speech vote

Theresa May has overcome a crucial Parliamentary test this evening  – winning the vote on the Queen’s Speech with the support of Northern Ireland’s Democratic Unionist Party. But she was forced to capitulate over an amendment granting Northern Ireland women free abortions in England. And Labour has sacked three shadow ministers after they voted for an amendment calling for Britain to stay in the single market.
