Good Friday Agreement Anniversary: power vacuum ‘failing’ Northern Ireland

Twenty five years ago today, the Good Friday Agreement was signed – bringing an end, on paper at least, to the Troubles in Northern Ireland, which had cost thousands of lives over decades.

At the heart of the agreement is a power sharing government. But that government, the Northern Ireland Assembly, has not sat for more than a year.
