Germany plays catch-up with Covid vaccines, as it approves use of AstraZeneca jab in over 65s

Germany has become the latest country to approve the AstraZeneca vaccine in people over 65 – and in another about turn, says it will follow the UK’s example by delaying the interval between doses in order to offer the first jab to as many people as possible.

Germany, like much of Europe, is struggling to roll out its Covid vaccination programme – wrestling with a host of problems from supply issues to public scepticism.
